December 10th is Harrison Matthews birthday. Harrison was one of Ster's best friends and I was lucky enough to get to meet him during his short life. Harrison was an amazing person. I met him in March of 2006 on the way up to Ster's friend Tyler Myers cabin and that is a ride I will NEVER forget. Harrison was a very funny person with a great sense of humor. Some of the funniest stories I have heard from Ster and his friends involve Harrison. He was the best at telling stories and was amazing at doing impressions. He passed away last January due to cancer. I remember how hard it was for Ster to see his really good friend, Harrison, go through such tough times. Harrison was always so positive and tough during his fight with cancer. He always had a good story and a funny joke. I truly do miss Harrison and I wish I would have had more time to spend with him. He was a wonderful person and a great example to my husband. So here is to Harrison, I miss you so much and Happy Birthday!!

This is one of my most favorite times of the Year. I love the weather and being able to spend time with family and friends. This year for Thanksgiving it was a little different. First, Ster and I went to Little America with his Dad, Sonna (his Step-Mom), Austin, Becky, Brody,Grandpa Headrick, and Ella. Brody looked so stinkin cute in his little Polo shirt, he is growing up so fast. After the nice dinner at Little America we traveled to South Jordan to my Parents house. Now this is where my Thanksgiving changed. My family usually goes over to my Grandma Burnside's house But this year we decided to have it at my Parents house. It was such a nice change. It is for sure one of my favorite Thanksgivings yet!!! My Parents did such a great job. I just love spending time with my family, we are so close and I'm lucky to have two amazing sisters who I look up to so much.

Life's Grand Opening!

Life Salon and Spa FINALLY had it's grand opening on November 15th. YAY!!! It was so stressful to plan such a big and important event. I for sure couldn't have done it without the help of Jenna. She is amazing and I'm so glad that we work together, she is for sure my partner in crime. We had a HUGE turn out and for a little while I was nervous that the fire department was going to show up because I knew that we had to be way over fire code. Now that the grand opening was over it was time to stress about being on TV the following Thursday. YIKES! Life is doing a monthly makeover with Channel 2 on the third Thursday of every month (All thanks to my sis-in-laws wonderful sister Debbie Worthen). It ended up turning out great, Jennifer did the cut, I did the color, and Jenna did the make up.

I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who is so supportive of my carrer.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Grand Opening for life! And Liv and Jen for being great owners and putting such a amazing life team together. The salon is going to be so successful, it already is and has hardly been open for 3 months.

Happy Halloween!

So for Halloween Ster, me, and Bentlee were the Dallas Cowboys!! YEE HAAA!! It was so funny to see Bentlee in her costume, she hated it! We went and visited our families and just chilled out! It was so nice. The day after Halloween some of our good friends ( Rory and Jeanie) invited us to go to a party at Mrs. Fields cookies old house in Woodlyn. It was so fun. Headrick update!

All Right, I know. I have needed to update my blog for a while now but my excuse is that my life is so crazy. I also haven't had to much to blog about, so I thought I would give everyone an update so everyone doesn't think we fell off the earth.
Ster just left this morning on this annual hunting trip, (although I can't tell you where he goes cause it's a BIG fat secret and I don't want any of you to go and hunt on "his" territory). This hunting trip is really important to him and I'm pretty sure they start planning for this trip in early August with a couple of small trips leading up to "check things out". Hunting is something that I have always grown up with, even though I will never understand why anyone would want to get up at insane times in the early morning to go sit out in the freezing weather and wait for something to happen. Growing up my Dad was always hunting in the fall, and still to this day does. He is for sure the biggest fan of hunting I have ever known. He has all sorts of "hunting" stuff, from different types of boats, to all sorts of guns, and those decoys, he even has a "duck club". So when I met Ster and found out he is also a big fan I knew what I was in for. I remember when I told my Mom that Ster and I were thinking about getting married she told me remember he is a hunter and will be gone a lot in the fall. I thought I would be prepare for all these hunting trips but because I'm bit of a worry wort I start thinking about all the "what ifs" while he is getting ready for his trip all the way until he gets back. I wish sometimes I could just forget about all the dangerous stuff that hunting could bring and enjoy a girls weekend. Which brings me to my next problem I'm so scared of staying at my house alone. Oh the joys of hunting.
I have been really busy with work. Cyprus has slowed down a bit because not a lot of people are out buying new cars right now. It does make it kind of nice since the salon is busy! I have been so happy with my new job at Life Salon and Spa. I work with awesome girls in a really nice salon and have met some of the coolest clients ever. I have currently been working on the Grand Opening ( stay tune for information ), which is on November 15. I have also been busy with clients. So my current schedule is Cyprus from 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri and Life Salon and Spa 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm Tues-Sun. I also have been going to classes from Aveda which have been AMAZING. I know I'm crazy (which would explain the crazy case of cold sores I have been getting) but I love both of my jobs and my co workers so it would be really hard to give up one, although hair doesn't feel like a job to me, Its more of a passion I have.
SO all in all life has been good and crazy. I'm so thankful for first my husband who has been so supportive of my crazy schedule, my family who have been awesome about coming into the new salon and supporting me there, my parents who have both taught me you have to work hard for things you really want and have been helping with Bentlee when Ster and I have late work nights, my co workers at Cyprus who deal with my craziness, my friends at Life Salon and Spa who inspire me, and my clients who have followed me to the new salon. I truly am blessed with great people in my life.

1- Where did you meet? We met on a blind date that his sis-in-law, Becky helped set up. Blind dates aren't that fun so I wasn't too excited until I opened my front door and saw Ster stand there in a black button up shirt. My knees went weak!

2- How long did you date before you were married? We dated for a little over a year and a half.

3- How long have you been married for? - We've been married for 1 year.

4- What does he do that surprises you? If I have had a long day at work he will have dinner all ready for me when I get home. Its so cute.

5- What's your favorite feature about him? He has his really cute smile. He also has a great sense of style. (The guy has more clothes than me!!) He looks so handsome all the time.

6- What's your favorite quality about him? Ster is so supportive! He supports me even when he sometimes doesn't agree with all my choices!

7- Does he have a nickname for you? What is it? Not really, he ususally just calls me Jess.

8- What's his favorite color? His favorite color is Blue for the Dallas Cowboys!!! But he loves to wear baby blue shirts.

9- What's his favorite food? Ster is ususally a good eater for the most part. He loves Chinese (David's Kitchen), Prime Rib (Market Street), Sushi, and lets not forget Oatmeal Chocolate chip Cookies.

10- What is his favorite sport? He LOVES to watch football (Go Cowboys), and he goes out golfing anytime he gets.

11- Who said I love you first? He did. In his car in front of his Brother and Sis-on-laws house.

12- When and where was your fist kiss? I can't remember the date but I know we dated for a week or so before he kissed me (he is so shy). But he was at his Mom's house in the basement.

13- What's your favorite thing to do as a couple? We loves to go out to dinners and Just relax at home cause we both work way too much!

14- Do you have kids? How many? Does Bentlee count??

15- What's a hidden talent that he has? I don't know if its hidden but he loves to cook and he is really good at it. He makes the best french toast.

16- How old is he? He is 23.

17- What's his favorite type of music? He likes a mix of everything from George Strait to Korn!!

18- What do you admire most about him? His dedication. To me, to our families, and to work.

Ster is one of the hardest workers I know.

19- What's his favorite past time? Anything to do with hunting or hanging out and doing crazy stuff with his friends!

Life Salon and Spa

It's offical!!!! I got a new job at a brand new AVEDA salon!!!! YAY!! I'm so excited Aveda is an awesome product and anyone who hasn't tried Aveda needs to for sure. The salon is called Life Salon and Spa. Its located at the District (11400 so. and Bangerter) it's opened 7 days a week. I will be working in the evenings, starting Tuesday, 9th. Welcome to the fam Brody!!

Brody is the newest member of the Headrick Family, thanks to Becky and Austin. Brody was born on June 1st 2008 at 10:00 am. He looks so much like his Dad. Becky is a wonderful Mom, recently I was able to spend sometime with Brody and Becky. Babies are so much fun to have around. I think Brody is going to grow up to be just like his Dad, he has already been out "hunting" with him the past couple weekends and Becky says he has been awesome in the great out doors. I'm not too surprised. LIKE FATHER LIKE SON!!!!! I am so lucky to have such a cute nephew. Here are some pictures I took of him while we were out for Ster's birthday...








P.S I would also like to add that my sis in law, Becky looks so awesome! You would never be able to tell that she has a baby almost 4 months ago.

A Surprise Call....

I have known Julie since we were in Sun beams together way back in the day when we only lived a block from each other. We have been through a lot together and have still stayed really close. We even went to hair school together, and that was HELL with a capitol H and a different post topic. Julie and I have a lot in common and a lot more not in common. Ever since I can remember people have been mixing us up. I'm Julie, she's Jesi. Whatever. We always just go with it. She never seems to surprise me with much, she has always been a lot crazier (in a fun way) than me. That was until I got a call from her a couple Saturday mornings ago...


JULIE IS PREGNANT!!! I was shocked and really excited for Grant and her. I knew one day she would have kids but I still feel like we are back in West Valley playing Doll House. WOW time flies!! Grant and Julie will be the best parents ever. Congrats Hoolee and Grant!!!

Last Friday night Ster and I stayed in and babysat Alyssa and Lucas. Kim and Mark were going out with some friends and I offered my services ( what an awesome sister I am. J/K). Sometimes I have a hard time with babysitting because first I'm a little selfish with my time and also my house is a little too small for children to really have fun. Plus I have no toys ( just ask Tommy. He reminds me all the time). BUT I do love to spend time with my nieces and nephews so I do try to offer help as much as I can.

Anyways back to Friday night. I have never babysat Lucas before but a couple weekends ago I babysat Ellie (another niece) and decided that I could handle babys. I could tell Kim was a little nervous about leaving Lucas with me ( I'm a little inexperienced ). Everything was going great. Lucas was being so good and was playing with some toys ( Alyssa and Lucas had to bring their own) on the floor while Alyssa became our personal cook (Like Mother Like Daughter). She helped Ster make her own hot dog on the BBQ and then helped make "chocolate" brownies with me, which ended up all over Alyssa, the floor, the walls, and me. After cleaning everything up I started to get the kids ready for bed. Luke was getting a little fussy and I started looking for his Bink. I couldn't find it anywhere until Alyssa told me to ask Bentlee.

What???!!!






Bentlee strolled into the living room sucking on Luke's Bink. I think Bentlee was getting a little jealous of all the attention we had been giving the kids. I guess this was her way of getting our attention back. What a weird dog..


FYI: I didn't give Luke's Bink back to him. I threw it away.

Blogs Rule!!! Boys Drool!!!

I was so proud of myself after I posted my blog and was excited to begin the fun world of blogging, well I guess that was until "some" of Ster's friends said it was dumb. It's funny cause I think that Blogs are way cooler than MySpace or FaceBook ( No offense to those to have MySpace or FaceBook Pages). At first my feelings were hurt and then I started thinking about it more. I think that Ster's friends are just sad cause I don't have any pictures of them on MY blog.

It's about time....

So after looking at everyones blogs almost everyday I have decided to have my own. I have never had a myspace or a facebook so this stuff is all new to me. I do like the idea of being able to share new and exciting things that are going on with Ster and me. So now I'm an addict.



Ster and I met on a blind date that his sister-in-law, Becky set up. We met in January 2006 and haven't been apart since. We were married in September 2007 and I have never been happier in my life. We added Bentlee into the mix in February of this year. She is a crazy dog and is very, very spoiled.



So FYI for all of you that don't know Ster and me:



Ster is working for Jiffy Lube. He has been working there since he was 16, he is a very hard worker and if you ever go visit him at work you will see him running his butt off! He is currently managing the Jiffy Lube store off 5400 south and Redwood Rd. Some of Ster's favorite things are: HUNTING ( He lives to hunt ), The Dallas Cowboys, Cookie Dough ice cream, gambling ( any type cards, games whatever). Ster is the sweetest guy I have ever met. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone. He has this annoying voice that he uses when he is making fun of people ( mostly me ) and I can't help but laugh. He is a very out going person and he can make a conversation with a total stranger.



I'm currently working at Cyprus Credit Union in the loan department. I love my job and have the best co workers ever. At night I do hair. I know what your thinking I am CRAZY for having two jobs, husband, and a dog but it totally works. I love to do hair, its completely different from what I do during that day and that is what I love. I work at a salon in Herriman and I have the best clients ever.



Life is good. Ster and I have the best and most supportive families ever. I'm so lucky to be so close to my brothers and sisters. My little brother Bobby is currently serving a mission in Houston, Texas. He has been out almost a year, in fact today is his birthday. Happy Birthday Little Brother!!!
