Getting Ready for Baby

Gosh, there is so much to do in order to get ready for this little guy. Not only do I have a lot to do, but I also feel like I should work as much as possible. I would like to have “enough” money saved in the bank while I’m on maternity leave. Can you really ever have “enough” saved?! Sterling has been really busy getting things ready for baby. After a couple trips back and forth (we locked ourselves out), Ster finally had the extra bedroom cleaned out and the crib all set up. I have to say I was pretty impressed with Ster as I watched him assemble the crib. He put that thing together so fast! It’s weird to look in that room now and instead of seeing Sterling’s hunting stuff I see a baby crib. Oh BOY! We still have so much to do. Our “to do” list on our fridge is getting longer and longer, thanks to me.
Last weekend my sister-in-law, Becky had a baby shower for me. It was so nice. I have to admit I kind of hate being in the spot light (I know you’re surprised). It’s hard when you have all your favorite people around you and you want to make sure to talk to everyone and thank everyone. Becky made me this really cute blanket. I love homemade blankets the very best. BryAnn also made me some blankets and burping cloths. I really need to learn how to make blankets. I also got a ton of other great gifts. It’s hard to tell what I’m really going to need. I noticed this when I was registering. How the heck is a new Mom suppose to know what her baby is going to need? Oh well. I guess you live and learn. I’m so thankful for all of my friends. I was so excited to see all of them at my shower. We don’t seem to get together enough anymore. It’s weird to think how long I have known these girls and how much we have all grown up. I feel so blessed to have amazing friends in my life.
I’m now 33 weeks pregnant. WOW! I’m getting pretty close. I have felt great up until about a week ago. I’ve recently started to feel really big and not comfy any more. I have a really hard time sleeping at night. I also seem to be experiencing Braxton-hicks. Its funny cause the first part of my pregnancy I felt great and really all the way up until this last week. I’m pretty sure it’s because my body is telling me to SLOW DOWN. I’m still working both jobs and I have to admit if I still keep feeling this way I will have to cut down on work. SCARY! Ster has been so supportive during my pregnancy, yes he does like to joke about my belly and give me a hard time, but he always makes sure I’m as comfy as I can be and that I’m feeling okay. He is going to be such a great Dad, I just can’t wait.
Last Sunday, Becky and Austin blessing their cute little twin girls. Austin and Becky’s Dad did such a great job on the blessings, and the girls looked so cute. The next baby blessing we will attend will be for our son. WEIRD!

Vegas, Garth Brooks, and 32 Weeks

Two weeks ago, Ster and I along with our two best friends, Heather and Aaron, took a weekend trip to Las Vegas. We had so much fun. The reason for the vacation was first because we bought tickets to Garth Brooks and second it would be the last trip Ster and I would go on for a while. Our vacation didn't start out as planned though. First our flight was delayed, due to the weather, so we were stuck at the Salt Lake Airport for 6 hours. Heather and I made the best out of it while Ster and Aaron were a little bit more annoyed. It was funny because Aaron kept saying in this amount of time we could have drove to Vegas, which is true, but flying is so much easier. When we finally arrived in Vegas it was late and we were hungry. We stayed at the Mirage and the rooms were fabulous. We had so much fun there. Ster met Antonio Gates (he's probably one of the best tight ends in the NFL according to Ster.) My favorite part of our vacation was seeing Garth Brooks play live. He probably my favorite country singer ever!! He was amazing, Trisha Yearwood even came out and sang with him. The concert was worth every single penny I spent. I only wish Ster would have won so we could have had some extra money.Being Pregnant in Vegas was not so much fun though. I got tired really early, my feet hurt, and we had to make sure to eat all three meal so I wouldn't get sick. All in all though I'm so glad we went. It was nice to spend 4 days with just Ster. We really needed that time together away from our jobs.
Only 8 weeks left until we get to finally meet our son. I'm so excited! I have been feeling great for the most part. Recently, I have been feeling extra tired. I have had a hard time waking up in the morning and even harder time getting out of our bed. No new cravings to report, actually nothing really sounds good to me anymore but I know I need to eat. Its really funny cause I'll be so hungry I feel like I could eat a whole house and then I start eating and I'm full after a couple of bits. Being pregnant is so weird. Baby Headrick is still really active. I can't wait to see him. I wonder all the time if he will have red hair or if he will look more like Ster than me. Either way his due date is approaching faster and faster, and we still don't have a name yet. After our vacation to Vegas Ster and I have a lot to do in order to get things ready for Baby Headrick.
My Aunt Debbie and Uncle Brent were so nice to give us their crib. Eli barley slept in there and it looks brand new! Ster cleaned out all his hunting stuff and got the room all cleaned out and ready for the new crib. He assembled that crib so fast, its weird looking into that room and seeing a crib all set up. I can't wait to have my son in there too. We still have a long list of things to do and I hope I have enough time. I just hope these next 8 weeks treat me good.

30 Weeks

I'm now officially 30 weeks pregnant. WOW! I've really made some progress. I have to say that I feel pretty lucky to have been feeling so great. My only complaint is, as of right now, I have zero energy! Which is really hard for me. I have a list of things I want to do before this little guy gets here and no motivation to do it. I find myself writing lists and thinking of all the things I want to do and then when it finally comes down to actually doing the tasks I find myself on the couch watching TV. This is really unlike me. I usually can be motivated really easy. I guess I will just enjoy myself and take this time to RELAX because I know when this little guy gets here there will be no time for relaxation. Sterling has been a lot of fun during this pregnancy, well he is actually fun all the time but we can't tell him that, it would make his head really BIG. He knows how to make me laugh even when I'm so tired I can barley keep my eyes open. Not only is he my favorite entertainment but he is also very supportive. He is so excited to be a Dad and I know he will be the best Dad ever to our son. I can't wait to see his face when the doctor hands our son over to him. I couldn't picture going through this pregnancy without Sterling. Which brings me to the topic of Baby Headrick. He is just growing and growing, well at least I hope cause I'm growing and growing. He is the most active at night and he seems to favor my right side. I really want to go to fetal photo so I can see what he is doing in there. He still really loves any hot drink (i.e. hot chocolate or chai tea), and also still loves coke, my Grandpa Burnside would have been so proud because he loved coke too. Sterling was finally able to feel Baby Headrick a couple weeks ago while we were laying in bed, which was pretty neat for Ster. I love waking up every morning and feeling him kick. I know I will really miss this feeling once he is finally here. Baby Headrick still has no name. His Mom and Dad can't agree on one yet and are still stuck between Cade and Nash. Cade being Dad's pick and Nash being Mom's pick. Oh well, I guess we will just have to see his face and decide then if he looks like a Cade or a Nash.
For the past week or so I have been making Sterling a list of things to do before the baby gets here. Some of the items on the list are; buy a new washer ( I know what you are thinking.... FUN, right), clean out the baby's rooms so we can move all the new stuff in, and etc. So after our trip to Vegas this weekend we will start working on our to do list.
